What is ISmart Shelf?

A patron places their ID card in the designated area of ISmart Shelf, then they place their books on the ISmart shelf. The system's sensors detect the presence of the book., Once the book is detected, ISmart Shelf displays a digital form with the patron's details, including their name. It also shows the number of books the patron has returned and lists the names of the returned books. After the patron completes the return process, the home screen updates to display the return status. This includes the patron's name and the total number of books available on ISmart Shelf . If a patron places a book without an ID card, the book is still returned, but the patron's name is marked with an asterisk symbol on the form and home page.

How to Use ISmart Shelf ?

Using ISmart Shelf is simple and user-friendly:

  • Approach the ISmart Shelf : Locate the ISmart Shelf in the designated area of the library.
  • Place your ID card : Place your ID card in the designated area of the system .
  • Place the Books on the Shelf : Gently place your books one by one or in a stack on the shelf surface. The system will automatically detect the tags on the books.
  • Confirm Return : Once the return process is completed, the home screen shows the return status with patron’s name and their returned books.
  • Returning without ID card :If a patron places a book without an ID card, the book is still returned. However, the patron’s name will be marked with an asterisk symbol on the form and home page.
